Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Gaze. Date: 1958-04-30. Reporter: Gaze. Assignment: Palisades trailer bowl. #5-6-77: View of $750,000 Palisades Trailer Bowl on Pacific Coast Highway Alternate 101. Its occupants have been ordered to evacuate because of danger of new landslides. It is occupied by 154 families. #69: Mrs. Mary Dixon Stephens resident of Palisades Trailer Bowl, measures 7-inch wide crack in earth on top of bluff at back of Trailer Bowl. The crack runs in a crescent shape for some 300 feet, part of it through the yard of home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Martin at 405 Puerto Del Mar (where this pix [sic] was made). #59-60: Mrs. Mary Dixon Stephens, Palisades Trailer Bowl resident inspects Bowl from top of bluff. Some 20 feet behind her an irregular, crescent shaped crack has appeared in the ground giving indication of a possible new slide. Pix [sic] was made at rear of yard of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Martin, 405 Puerto Del Mar".
