Whittier Chemical Company fire, 1952
Supplementary material reads: "Whittier: Dick Harmon. Cutline dope for Whittier fire story. #1: Closeup shot of six volunteers manning hose on west side of fire. Included in group are two Whittier area tavern owners, a deputy sheriff, a piano player, and a printer. #2: Long shot of group of men (probably off-duty fireman) also taken on west side of fire. This group bent down low to hit underneath building where some chemicals had dropped through platform. #3: Two firemen playing hose from east side of fire -- foreground pointing is Fire Chief Archie Alford, manning hose is Lieutenant Carl Johnston".
