Ricksha Blood Bank (United States Navy Tanker gives 107 quarts), Passumpic, 1952
Supplemenrary material reads: "Gershon. City desk. Illus. Ricksha blood bank. Photo shows Captain William K. Parsons, USN, skipper of Navy tanker Passumpic hauling Billy (correct) Harris, Quartermaster First Class, in Ricksha brought here from Korea. Captain promised to haul first blood bank donor volunteer from ship in dry dock at Todd's Shipyard, San Pedro, to Administration building eight blocks away in yard where Red Cross bloodmobile unit awaited. Crew volunteered and gave 107 quarts, a number matching the ship's identification number AO 107".
