'I'm kind of scared', said pretty Miss Singapore, 19-year old Marian Willis, when she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport from Honolulu via Pan American Airways last night (7/16). The young beauty who was selected from 33 contestants in Singapore is on her first visit to the U.S. to compete for honors and recognition in the Miss Universe Contest in Long Beach along with other international beauties. She will be here for 10 days and is looking forward to some sightseeing. Her Universe chaprone [sic], Mrs. Ted Lewis, of Long Beach, met her upon arrival".
