Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Glickman. Date: 1952-04-07. Assignment 10 orphan pups... No. Hollywood (Sunday..Monday). 10 orphan labrador and pointer mixed breed pups all in one basket. Pups' mother has been missing since last week... Pups are owned by Mrs. Ellen Covington of 5612 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood. Mrs. Covington fears that mother dog may have been killed or stolen. Pups now eat by themselves. She wants to either sell them or find homes for them".
