Gift trip: Conductor of the famed Mormon Choir of Southern California Frederick Davis boards a United Air Lines plane at Los Angeles International Airport to begin an air trip to New Zealand. His wife Marianne will join him in San Francisco on the trip that is a gift from the 175 members of the vocal group. Mr. Davis was born and raised in New Zealand and this will be his first trip back to his homeland in 24 years. The Davises will attend the dedication ceremonies of a new Mormon Temple at Hamilton, N.Z., along with many Mormon church officials, including the president of the church, David O. McKay of Salt Lake City".
