"$9,200,000 project: 28-story steel, glass tower for Wilshire -- Ground-breaking for a 28-story steel and glass skyscraper to be built at Wilshire Boulevard and McCarty Vista will be carried out about March 1, it was announced yesterday. -- The main tower building is expected to be completed in 18 months, and a four-story annex will be finished within a year, according to Monroe Hemmerdinger, president of Atlas Terminals, Inc., and Alfred Bloomingdale, head of the Diners Club. -- The $9,200,000 project is the first on the West Coast for Atlas Terminals, a New York firm which has developed commercial and industrial properties in the East." -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated 13 February 1959
