"Two-story office building rising at 3rd St., Poinsettia Ave. -- Tile panels, colored metal sunshades aid exterior decor. -- Construction of a two-story office building at the northwest corner of West Third Street and Poinsetta Avenue in Los Angeles is now under way. -- Owner of the project are Phillip JOnes and James Bednar, whose law offices will occupy the entire upper floor. Plans were prepared in the architectural and engineering firm of Faxon, Gruys & Sayler. Project is under the direction of William Simpson Construction Company. -- Exterior wall materials include natural brick with extensive use of decorative tile panels, as well as colored metal sunshades to protect the lower floor glass areas. -- All interior areas are air conditioned, and upper offices have been grouped around a landscaped, skylighted patio. Future expansion is provided over the rear private parking lot. -- Total cost of land and improvements is $160,000.'" -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated 23 December 1956.
