Supplementary material reads: "From: Milton Weiss. Rogers & Cowan Publicity. CR. 5-4581. 1951-11-16. England's Favorite -- Film star Fred MacMurray arrived last night (15) following a two-week trip to London where he attended the Command Performance. While abroad, MacMurray was cited by 117 British theatre owners as the 'Favorite American Actor', determined as a result of a one-month poll conducted by the theatres. The actor was scheduled to remain in England for an additonal two weeks, but cut short his stay to return to the side of his wife, Lillian, who recently underwent a major operation. MacMurray told newsmen that the entire Hollywood contingent that appeared at the Command Performance were enthusiastically received by members of the Royal Family and public alike. 'Our pictures are still the No. 1 choice of English movie fans,' MacMurray added".
