Banning fire, 1951
Supplementary material reads: "Negative identification. Neg with fire equipment in foreground: Jules Davis ranch two-and one-half miles by road north of the northern limits of the city. Fire equipment gathered a the place after the shot was taken in expectation that the flames would reach the ranch by 11:30 p.m. night of 17. As the crow flies, the fire is less than a mile from the main heart of Banning's downtown section. The thin neg. Outline of trees hides the main drag of Banning: Ramsey boulevard. The tower with two lights just above the main fire is the radio tower of the Riverside County Sheriff's office. Blaze in hills looks just like it is in heart of town Bill Rashall. I had the last neg printed and it is rather spectacular if you like a black background. Picture taken time exposure at 25 minutes. Should have been about 40 minutes but is a good shot I believe".
