Assignment: Voter flies to Big Bear. 17/18: L/r: Jerry Turton, aircraft company production planner, and Lee Edwards, pilot, ready for take-off from Clover Field, Santa Monica, to Big Bear Airport late today. Turton was flown by Edwards in a Lear, Inc. plane, expressly so that he (Turton) could vote where he is registered. His company gave him the necessary two hours off to make the trip. Arrangements were made by the Santa Monica Republican headquarters".
