2 images. Lee Tower - 22 stories high on miracle mile, 14 August 1961. The Lee building, is still (as of January 2013) there on the northwest corner of Wilshire and Cochran. In the distance to the right is the E. Clem Wilson building, still located on the NE corner of Wilshire and La Brea (as of January 2013). It was designed by Mendel Myer and Phillip Holler in 1929. At that time of the photo it had a beacon (not originally part of the building, and no longer there). The Wilson building was also known as the Mutual of Omaha building. The building to the immediate left of the Lee tower, on the NW corner of Wilshire and Dunsmuir, was designed by Frank Rasche as a bank, also in 1929. It currently houses the Korean Cultural Center (January 2013).
